POLYSORB® - the high purity isosorbide
POLYSORB® is a highly pure dianhydrohexitol, more commonly called isosorbide.
This sustainable, biodegradable, non-aromatic and bicyclic diol is obtained by dehydration of sorbitol, a derivative of starch, for which Roquette is the leading world producer.
®POLYSORB from Roquette exhibits key attributes offering value or opportunities to develop successful and sustainable applications.
POLYSORB® offers technological solutions both for thermoplastics (polyesters, polycarbonates, and TPU Thermoplastic Polyurethanes) and curable resins (polyurethanes, epoxy resins, unsaturated resins, and reactive coatings), etc.
In addition to its plant-based and technological assets, toxicological assessment has shown POLYSORB® was safe, without any classification.
It is free of bisphenols (like BPA, BPS or BPF). POLYSORB® can be used in several countries worldwide, as it is registered in global chemical inventories like Reach or ToSCA, etc.
USDA Certification
Roquette has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product label. The product, POLYSORB® isosorbide, is now able to display a unique USDA label that highlights its percentage of biobased content. It shows that POLYSORB® contains 100% USDA certified biobased content.
