Solutions for Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers
The world of coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) is experiencing a decisive shift. Manufacturers and formulators face tighter regulations, surging customer expectations for product safety and sustainability, and an industry-wide call to reduce reliance on fossil-based and contentious ingredients such as phthalates and BPA.
These trends are shaping how end-users, from construction and automotive to packaging and electronics, specify materials for performance, durability, and environmental impact alike.

Our Plant-Based Solutions for C.A.S.E Applications
Roquette’s portfolio for the CASE market features high-purity, renewable building blocks and functional additives that enable sustainability, safety, and performance in coatings, adhesives, and sealants.
All our biobased ingredients are free from phthalates, BPA, and other controversial substances, supporting your efforts to meet regulatory and market requirements for safe, high-performance, and more sustainable formulation.
POLYSORB® Isosorbide
This plant-based diol is used as a renewable building block in resins and polymers for coatings and adhesives. It is valued for bringing higher rigidity, UV resistance, and chemical stability to cross-linked systems, water-based coatings, and high-performance adhesives. Its use supports the formulation of safer, phthalate-free and BPA-free products for demanding industrial and specialty adhesive applications, including structural or assembly adhesives where durability is essential.
TACKIDEX®
TACKIDEX® is Roquette’s biobased dextrin polymer, recognized for its tackifying properties in adhesives. It is particularly well-suited for hot-melt adhesives (HMA), water-based adhesives, and pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA). TACKIDEX® enhances initial tack, cohesive strength, and processing for applications such as labels and tapes.
BIOSUCCINIUM®
Our 100% biobased succinic acid is a key component in the synthesis of biodegradable polyesters and resins. In adhesives, BIOSUCCINIUM® can be used as a building block for water-based and solvent-free adhesive systems, offering flexibility and strong adhesion. It is an excellent choice for packaging adhesives, labeling, laminates, and cases where end-of-life considerations such as compostability or recyclability are priorities.
METHOCEL™
In water-based paints and coatings, METHOCEL™ cellulose ethers help control viscosity and rheology, promoting uniform application, film coalescence, and substrate adhesion.
POLYOX™
POLYOX™ water-soluble resins enable customizable viscosity and wet tack, providing excellent adhesion to paper and other substrates and supporting robust adhesive performance in paper converting and related applications.
ETHOCEL™
For solvent-based paints and printing inks, ETHOCEL™ ethyl cellulose acts as a film-former and binder with rheology control in non-aqueous systems; it can also aid pigment dispersion, supporting consistent gloss and adhesion.
Lattice® NTC
Lattice® NTC microcrystalline cellulose forms a structured 3D network in water-based paints and coatings, improving stabilization and homogeneity, delivering thixotropy and thermal stability, and enhancing leveling while reducing sagging.
