Your partner for sustainable food and feed bio-ingredients production

Discover Roquette’s plant-based, non-GMO solutions for food & feed bio-ingredient production through fermentation. Optimize processes sustainably.

Evolving consumer needs are driving innovation in food and feed bio-ingredients production through fermentation, particularly precision fermentation.

The rising consumer need for sustainable and ethical nutrition has made alternative proteins increasingly important, particularly  fermented proteins that preserve both functionality and nutritional quality offering viable substitutes for traditional meat and dairy proteins. Furthermore, consumer needs for healthier food options are driving sugar reduction initiatives, creating demand for naturally produced sweeteners through fermentation as alternatives to traditional sugar.

Roquette's plant-based products are well-positioned to help our customers achieve their goals of using more sustainable inputs without compromising the performance of their processes or the quality of the end product. Our Customer Technical Services (CTS) labs work with customers to help them find plant-based solutions for their fermentation medium and final product formulation that provide consistent yields of high-quality bio-ingredients.

Our plant-based solutions for food and feed bio-ingredients production

We offer a broad range of solutions to the fermentation industry.

Whether you are producing a food or feed enzyme, or amino acids, we have carbon and nitrogen sources that will meet your need. Couple that with a dedicated technical staff to assist you in development.

Roquette offers comprehensive support for large-scale bio-ingredient production through fermentation with plant-based, non-GMO, non-allergen raw materials, many of which are food grade.

Our nutritional components include carbon sources, dextrose & glucose syrups, as well as starch hydrolysates for energy provision.

We also offer NEOSORB® sorbitol and GLUCIDEX® maltodextrins to meet specific microorganism or process requirements.

Nitrogen sources, including proteins, peptides, and amino acids, are crucial for microbial growth and fermentation processes. Products like SOLULYS®, TUBERMINE®, and NUTRALYS® are excellent examples that supply these essential nutrients. These nitrogen sources not only provide the fundamental building blocks for microbial metabolism but also deliver vital growth factors that ensure optimal performance of microorganisms. Among them, TUBERMINE® stands out for its suitability in enzyme production processes, precisely meeting the nutritional requirements of fungi to enhance productivity and efficiency. Some products are Kosher and serve as alternatives to yeast extracts, meat, and soy peptones, further catering to diverse dietary and ethical preferences

A range of plant-derived solutions designed to create customized formulations

Protecting fragile molecules from irreversible degradation or loss of viability during downstream processing is a critical concern for formulators. Identifying the optimal formulation for stabilization can be as crucial as the product itself.

Roquette has developed a range of plant-derived solutions designed to create customized formulations that stabilize biomolecules effectively. To support processing, we offer spray and freeze-drying aids that enhance product stability. Our stabilization compounds help extend shelf life and maintain product quality throughout distribution and storage.

We provide GLUCIDEX® maltodextrin as a carrier, chosen for its ability to influence osmotic pressure and freezing points. This is particularly beneficial for sensitive products exposed to mechanical and physico-chemical stresses such as ultra-low temperatures during lyophilization or cryopreservation, high temperatures during spray-drying or fluid-bed drying, and prolonged ambient storage. These solutions ensure that product integrity is maintained, enhancing overall effectiveness and reliability
