Our Range of Starches and Derivatives for Animal Nutrition
Starches and derivatives play an important role in animal nutrition, serving as key sources of energy and contributing to optimal health and productivity. Through the starch refining process, starch undergoes numerous transformations, providing a wide range of functional benefits . Whether used in its native or modified versions, our starch products are designed to meet the specific needs of modern feed formulations. Our expertise in plant-based ingredients allows us to offer a diverse portfolio of high-quality starches and derivatives that support efficient, balanced, and innovative animal nutrition solutions, from energy provision to improved feed texture and digestibility.
Our starch and derivative solutions
Our range of starches, derivatives, and fermentation products is designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of animal nutrition. Each ingredient offers unique characteristics:
- Native Starches refined from wheat, corn, pea, potato and fava, providing versatile energy sources and functional properties tuned by their botanical origin and amylose/amylopectin content.
- Modified Starches & Dextrins, such as pregelatinized, cooked-up, or dextrin-based, delivering improved solubility, stability, texture, or emulsification for targeted nutritional and process benefits.
- Maltodextrins & Glucidex®, which are easily digestible carbohydrate sources tailored for energy provision, binding, or texturizing, suitable for a wide variety of feed applications and animal life stages.
- Sugars & Polyols, highly digestible, quick energy sources, ideal for young animals, specialized formulations, and feed palatability.
- Fermentation Products like gluconic acid and sodium gluconate, produced by
fermentation, offering additional support for digestive health and feed performance.
Our native starches :
Our native starches are obtained by wet refining of high-quality raw materials, including wheat, standard corn, waxy corn, amylo corn, pea (N735 and TACKIDEX® N735), potato, and fava.
Each type offers unique functional properties and nutritional value, influenced by its botanical origin. The natural ratio of amylose to amylopectin varies between sources, impacting key characteristics such as texture, and processing behavior, enabling manufacturers to choose optimal solutions to meet specific product requirements.
Our modified starches and dextrins:
To address specific processing and formulation challenges, such as temperature, pH, mixing, and salt content, we offer an extensive portfolio of modified starches and dextrins:
- PREGEFLO® Pregelatinized Starches: Soluble in cold water, ideal for improved process flexibility.
- CLEARAM® Cooked-Up Starches: Cross-linked and stabilized to withstand demanding processing conditions including shear, heat, and acidity.
- CLEARGUM® Octenyl Succinate Starch (OSS): Offering enhances texture and providing emulsification capabilities.
- GLUCIDEX® Maltodextrins: Produced through starch hydrolysis, available in a range of dextrose equivalents (DE 1–47) for versatile functions. Lower DE products (DE 1–9) act as thickeners, binders, and texturizers. Intermediate DE (DE 12–29) serve as carriers and energy sources. And higher DE (DE 33–47) provide rapidly available energy.
- NUTRIOSE®: A dextrins derived from wheat or maize, these partially hydrolyzed starches offer soluble fiber benefits and versatile functionality for feed applications.
This comprehensive range allows manufacturers to optimize texture, stability, digestibility, and overall performance in their products.
Our sugars and polyols :
Our range of sugars and polyols offers highly digestible carbohydrate sources and functional ingredients for advanced animal nutrition formulation.
Dextrose® Monohydrate and Anhydrous Dextrose®: Purified, crystallized forms of D-glucose derived from cereal starch hydrolysis, providing immediate energy for animals. Anhydrous Dextrose® is particularly appreciated in functional premixes.
GLUCIDEX® Maltodextrins: Highly digestible sugar sources, with excellent flowing properties. It is particularly valuable in diets for young animals and specialized feed applications, such as gels or functional blends.
Polyols: Produced by hydrogenating D-glucose obtained from starch, these ingredients contribute to energy, palatability, and texture in feed formulations.
- NEOSORB®: Available as both a 70/70 liquid solution and a powder sorbitol.
Our Glucose syrups and Molasses: We propose different types of liquid sugars with unique benefits:
- Glucose syrups are purified and concentrated aqueous solutions of nutritive saccharides obtained through hydrolysis of starch. Glucose syrups are classified with a D.E. value that is linked to a medium, intensive or very high hydrolysis. Depending on the composition (Glucose, Fructose), sweetening effect of glucose syrups will vary.
- TACKIDEX® Syrups 30L75 & 50L70: co products obtained from starch derivates production, TACKIDEX® is a range of Glucose Molasses rich in sugars and oligosaccharides, it is also low in ash. TACKIDEX® are very stable syrups and easy to handle.
Our fermentation products:
Our fermentation-derived ingredients offer valuable functional and nutritional support in animal nutrition.
GLUCONIC ACID L is a co-product from the production of glucono-delta-lactone, rich in gluconic acid. It is obtained through the microbial fermentation of glucose syrup.
Sodium Gluconate is produced from Gluconic acid by neutralization and crystallisation, along with the manufacturing of food grade gluconodelta-Lactone.
Roquette range is composed with:
- GLUCONIC ACID L: liquid form
- GLUCONO-DELTA-LACTONE: the crystallized form of Gluconic acid
- SODIUM GLUCONATE Liquid
- SODIUM GLUCONATE G: the crystallized form of Sodium Gluconate
