Roquette Supports Wetland and Biodiversity Conservation in China
Published January 13, 2026
Discover how Roquette supports wetland and biodiversity preservation in Lianyungang, China, with field visits, ecological research, and local collaborations.

In December of 2025, Roquette in China worked with Lianyungang Release, the Lianyungang Ecological Environment Bureau, and local experts to strengthen awareness and advance biodiversity conservation. The Roquette teams embarked on two immersive field visits to a scenic river estuary, lake, and tidal flats as important habitats on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway that support migratory birds.
Field visits and ecological research support
With forestry professionals and birdwatchers, Roquette colleagues observed diverse species including pied avocets, gulls, ducks, egrets, geese, and red-crowned cranes, while learning how targeted restoration efforts and responsible observation are bringing rare species back and nurturing biodiversity.
At the city’s Wildlife Education Center, the participants deepened their understanding of wetland ecosystems and conservation. Roquette also donated specialized equipment to the local forestry team to help monitor bird activity and support ecological research for preservation efforts.
The value of biodiversity conservation
Seeing the birds in the wetlands was personally impactful.
It helped us understand in a very tangible way why protecting habitats is so important. The earth is a home we share with all living creatures.
