Roquette’s Sustainable Actions for Biodiversity and Nature
Published May 21, 2026
Discover how Roquette is advancing sustainability, environmental responsibility, and biodiversity through initiatives aligned with international frameworks.

As central to our purpose – “Together, we turn the potential of nature into the essentials of life” – nature is at the heart of what we do, and sustainable development serves as a key asset of our strategy. An important part of our sustainability commitment is our dedication to conserving biodiversity and regenerating nature.
Our commitment and impact
To mark the UN’s International Day for Biological Diversity (Biodiversity) on May 22, we are sharing some of the latest steps we have taken for nature and biodiversity. These initiatives also demonstrate the International Day’s 2026 theme of “Acting locally for global impact.”
This month, we are releasing the new Biodiversity and Zero Deforestation Policy. Aligned with the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the policy affirms our commitment to promote biodiversity, prevent deforestation, and protect the environment.
Biodiversity is substantial to us and the planet. We strive to understand our biodiversity stakes within our value chain, and we use science-based input to build a strong action plan for maximum positive impact near Roquette’s sites.
Biodiversity initiatives
Through our PRESERVE the planet platform, one of our goals is to foster 100 initiatives to regenerate nature and biodiversity in our communities and along Roquette’s value chain by 2030. In 2025, we achieved 14 biodiversity actions, to reach a total of 42 actions over the last four years and be on track toward our 2030 target.
Here are some examples from last year of local initiatives near our sites:
- Planting trees in Gokak, India
- Cleaning beaches in Singapore and Cork, Ireland
- Supporting wetland and biodiversity preservation in Lianyungang, China
- Providing peregrine falcons a nesting box in Beinheim, France
- Installing a raft as a nesting site for Arctic terns in Vecquemont, France
- Collaborating with the Limne Foundation to restore a river ecosystem in Benifaió, Spain
- Partnering with the Bellona Foundation on seaweed forest restoration in Haugesund, Norway
Other actions are planned for 2026, and, to continue raising employee awareness, we organized an internal webinar this year with États Sauvages (Wild States) related to forest biodiversity in metropolitan France and to learn about best practices for contributing to its preservation. États Sauvages is a non-profit organization that works to raise public awareness and preserve biodiversity, forests, and natural ecosystems.
In 2026, we are also working with Act4nature international to join their initiative and action commitment framework.
We remain committed to taking care of nature. We will continue to evaluate our actions and impacts, share our progress, and collaborate with all our stakeholders.
