Learn how Roquette’s partnerships with Oxyane and Axéréal support farmers and regenerative agriculture for more sustainable, resilient supply chains.

Roquette recently signed two new regenerative agriculture partnerships in the corn sector in France: O’trement, led by the Oxyane agricultural and agri-food cooperative group, and CultivUp Régénératif, developed by the Axéréal agricultural cooperative. We are collaborating to support local farmers, encourage the adoption of regenerative practices and measure their environmental benefits. Through these programs, we prioritize climate and soil health, while also considering water, biodiversity and social impact.

These partnerships contribute to life+nature, our sustainable development roadmap through 2030, and specifically the PRESERVE the planet engagement platform. Our 2030 objectives include supporting 20 regenerative agriculture programs worldwide and reaching 100% sustainable and certified sourcing of our key raw materials.

Promoting the agricultural transition for local farmers

The O’trement and CultivUp Régénératif initiatives are based on a collective approach involving stakeholders across the value chain: farmers, cooperatives, and industrial and agricultural partners. Like our other regenerative agriculture partnerships, they make it possible for us to work across complementary regions and sectors, close to our supply sources.

O’trement aims to support 500 farmers in the Rhône-Alpes region by 2030, with more than 50,000 hectares already enrolled in the program. The initiative offers individualized agronomic support for farms, the measurement of key indicators to track the evolution of practices over time, and financial incentives to help offset the additional costs associated with adopting new practices. As part of this initiative, Roquette has also partnered with Cérévia, a cooperative union specializing in grain marketing, to source
corn produced under the program.

CultivUp Régénératif brings together more than 2,000 farmers across approximately 200,000 hectares. Deployed in several French farming regions, the program supports changes in practices, particularly related to soil health, climate and biodiversity.

Investing in the future of agriculture and value chains

Agriculture is a cornerstone of our business, supplying raw materials for the plant-based ingredients and solutions we produce. The agricultural sector also faces climate and economic challenges that can affect its resilience, resources, and yields.

Committing to regenerative agriculture means anticipating these changes and contributing to the resilience of our supply chains, while addressing our customers’ expectations. By participating in regenerative agriculture programs, Roquette helps farmers adopt more sustainable practices through financial mechanisms, agronomic expertise, training and performance monitoring.

Bruno Ben Said, Global Category Manager for Raw Materials at Roquette, emphasized: “These two new commitments mark a new stage in our efforts to promote regenerative agriculture. They give concrete expression to our purpose – Together, we turn the potential of nature into the essentials of life – by supporting farmers over the long term and bringing all stakeholders together around shared, measurable objectives. This is how we will be able to transform practices, reduce the environmental footprint of our agricultural raw materials and help build more resilient value chains.”
