Four New Solutions to Elevate Texture and Sensorial Performance in Cosmetics.
Published April 08, 2026
Roquette, a global leader in plant‑based ingredients, announces four additions to its Beauté by Roquette® portfolio designed to help cosmetics brands create high‑performance, sensorial solutions: Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 and three premium alginates.

These innovations will debut at in‑cosmetics® Global 2026 in Paris, April 14–16, where Roquette Beauté will also highlight its enriched portfolio following the integration of the IFF Pharma Solutions offering.
Unveiling a Premium Range of Marine-Sourced Alginates
Beauté by Roquette® AG 215, AG 219, and AG 291 are a selection of premium alginates sourced from renewable brown seaweed. They are readily biodegradable and supported by recognized responsible‑sourcing programs.
The Beauté by Roquette® Alginates offer a wide span of gelling behaviors, from viscous or elastic gels to firmer, shape‑keeping structures, giving formulators flexibility to design creative textures and compelling consumer experiences. They also stand out for their ability to bring a high level of freshness and transparency in formulations.
In practice, Beauté by Roquette® AG 215 is well-suited for jelly and stick formats; Beauté by Roquette® AG 219 brings suspension properties, and Beauté by Roquette® AG 291 excels as a viscosifier. All three alginates also provide a cooling effect and a very light, smooth feel on the skin.
Introducing a dual-impact innovation for inside‑out protection and performance
Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 is an advanced, ready‑to‑use vegan softgel capsule technology for customizable premium packaging. It lets brands create distinctive single-dose capsules by tailoring shape, size, and color, while delivering premium cosmetic formulas. Starch-based and biodegradable, Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 stands out as an animal‑free alternative to gelatin capsules while helping preserve sensitive actives and formulas.
Additionally, Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 is a high-performing film former for cosmetics. It provides 100% water resistance in suncare* and makeup, showing a clear step change versus existing starch-based solutions and synthetic film formers, supporting long-lasting wear and SPF protection for consumers.
Building on the portfolio expansion announced in March 2026, these launches bring new capabilities to sensorial design and wear performance.
“With the launch of Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 and our new alginate range, we are offering cosmetics brands with solutions to design innovative textures that perform and feel exceptional, while advancing sustainable choices,” says Bénédicte Courel, General Manager Cosmetics Business at Roquette. “It’s another milestone in our Roquette Beauté journey, where our expanded portfolio and enriched expertise have come together to support tomorrow’s beauty.”
Roquette Beauté will present these new ingredients and its complete portfolio at in-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, at booth 3G110, in the innovation zone and the sensory bar, and during a dedicated technical session, April 15 at 15h15, Theatre 4.
*In vitro tests showed that Beauté by Roquette® DS 700 at 3% in a suncare lotion achieves >100% SPF water resistance, improving existing starch-based solutions and outperforming a synthetic PVP benchmark
