OPERATIONS - Trainee Operator

Job Purpose
To support production activities by operating equipment under supervision, ensuring hygiene, food safety, and quality standards. The Trainee Operator learns machine operations, GMP practices, and contributes to continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
A. Production & Machine Operation
Assist in operating machinery
Follow batch preparation instructions and SOPs.
Monitor machine parameters (temperature, speed, pressure, weights).
Support product changeovers, line setup, and basic troubleshooting under supervision.
B. Food Safety & Hygiene
Strictly follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Maintain personal hygiene and wear required PPE (gloves, aprons, masks, hairnets, etc.).
Ensure equipment and workstation meet food safety standards.
Participate in cleaning & sanitation (CIP/SIP or manual cleaning).
C. Quality Assurance Support
Perform basic quality checks (weight, appearance, sealing, coding, foreign body checks).
Reject and report defective products/materials.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Report deviations in taste, texture, colour, or packaging to QA or supervisor.
D. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety rules, including safe handling of hot surfaces, chemicals, and moving equipment.
Report hazards, machine malfunction, or incidents immediately.
Comply with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, and company policies.
E. Learning & Skill Development
Attend training sessions on machinery, food safety, hygiene, and safety.
Understand complete process flow from raw materials to packaging.
Continuously improve technical and production skills.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of food production processes (preferred).
Ability to understand batch sheets, labels, and machine indicators.
Basic handling of measuring instruments (weighing scale, thermometer, etc.).
Behavioral Skills
Discipline and willingness to learn.
Attention to hygiene and quality details.
Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment.
Teamwork, communication, and reliability.
Educational Qualification
Diploma (Food Technology, Mechanical, Electrical preferred).
Experience
Freshers encouraged to apply.
Experience in food processing/packaging will be an advantage.
