PROCUREMENT - Americas Procurement Manager

Position Summary
The Industrial Purchasing Manager is an individual contributor responsible for leading MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) and SG&A procurement activities across Canada and Mexico. This role drives sourcing strategies, supplier performance, cost savings, operational excellence, and stakeholder satisfaction. The position offers potential future growth into a people leadership role as business operations expand.
Key Responsibilities
· Own procurement activities for MRO and SG&A categories across Canada and Mexico.
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, service, and supplier performance.
· Manage and oversee the end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) process, ensuring timely and accurate creation, modification, and closure of purchase orders.
· Ensure procurement transactions comply with company policies, purchasing procedures, delegated authority limits, and internal controls.
· Identify and deliver measurable cost savings opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Assist in managing exceptions, urgent requests, and escalations to minimize supply disruptions.
· Train and support end users on procurement systems, policies, and purchasing procedures.
· Challenge existing supplier arrangements and internal procurement processes to drive greater value.
· Monitor and report on procurement KPIs, metrics, and business impact.
· Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and influence decision-making.
· Support change management initiatives related to procurement processes, systems, and organizational priorities.
· Lead day-to-day purchasing activities and provide informal leadership, coaching, and guidance where required.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
· Significant experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated success delivering cost savings and operational improvements.
· Experience managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
· Strong understanding of procurement metrics and KPI management.
· SAP experience is a strong asset.
· Experience supporting operations across multiple locations or countries is preferred.
Leadership & Influence
· Previous people management experience is preferred.
· Candidates without direct management experience should demonstrate supervisory responsibilities or informal leadership experience.
· Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results without direct authority.
