Dedication to customers is at the heart of Rhea Wang’s work. She is a leading researcher for the Health & Pharma Solutions Business Unit. And she has worked extensively in R&D and applications development. Her expertise lies in pharmaceutics with a focus on the formulation and process optimization of drug delivery systems.
Rhea pours her energy into troubleshooting complex formulation and process challenges such as osmotic pump delivery systems and multiple unit pellet systems.
Throughout my career, I have focused on pharmaceutics, and I truly enjoy working on drug formulation development. Providing solutions to our customers’ challenges is most fulfilling to me.
A recent research project of Rhea’s investigated an ethyl-cellulose-based inert matrix. The study examined how ETHOCEL™ attributes, other formulation components, and process parameters affect drug release, providing guidance for formulators developing modified-release matrices.
Rhea is not “all work and no play,” though.
She loves spending time with her children and going for walks, and she’s pretty good with a badminton racquet we hear! She also loves exploring her home country of China, and one of her favorite destinations is Xiaojangdong in Hunan Province.
There, she says, the natural landscapes are breathtaking, but she’s also eager to visit Xinjiang to explore its unique cultural heritage and stunning geographical diversity.
