With almost four decades at Roquette, Véronique Scelles describes her career journey as forward-looking, one of the company’s values that resonates with her the most. It informs how she uses her investigative, people-oriented skills to benefit others, as she has actively sought growth and new challenges over the years.
Véronique’s path started by quality checking Roquette’s plant-based ingredients in a lab in France. Eager for more responsibilities and opportunities, she exemplifies the principle to be an “entrepreneur for your career” and encourages others to be proactive and take risks for their future. Her experience includes working in research and development (R&D) on plant protein innovation, intellectual property, and human resources (HR) as a business partner for R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams in Lestrem, France.
In 2018, Véronique applied for her current position as Whistleblowing Manager on the Legal team, blending HR skills and compliance. In this role, she implemented and manages the SpeakUp tool, coordinating internal investigations for various topics and upholding our commitment to ethics and compliance throughout the company globally.
Through external audits, Roquette has proved to be advanced with using this kind of reporting tool and mature with the processes we have in place. I’m proud of how we have pioneered in this aspect of compliance. It is part of my contribution to the well-being of all stakeholders and to help protect us against risks.
In her personal life, Véronique’s love of nature, research and people energizes her.
She said, “I’m connected to nature. I like gardening and experimenting with growing different plants in the garden.”
Her other passion is genealogy and researching family history and helping others do the same. After she retires, Véronique plans to volunteer with a local organization for missing persons, helping families find and reconnect with loved ones.
Investigation and a focus on people keep inspiring her on the job and connect with excellence, another Roquette value that resonates with her.
