To meet our challenges, we are looking for a Plant Logistics and Planning Specialist within the Logistics team! This position will be located in Gokak.

Our Team is always at the forefront to ensure customer delight is achieved in each and every consignment by delivering safely and within time.

Their mission? The position is responsible for end‑to‑end logistics planning, execution, and optimization. This includes timely freight payment, outbound finished goods dispatch, inventory alignment, transporter management, freight cost control, and service level improvement. The role ensures seamless coordination between production, sales, warehouses, transport partners, and customers through efficient logistics planning and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

A. Logistics Planning

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly logistics plans aligned with production, dispatch schedules, and customer priorities.
• Forecast logistics needs based on sales demand, plant production plans, and inventory positioning.
• Optimize vehicle routing, load planning, and fleet utilization.
• Coordinate with plant teams to maintain minimum demurrage, detention, and idle time.

B. Logistics Operations

• Supervise inbound logistics for raw materials (RM), packaging materials (PM), and outward movement of finished goods (FG).
• Manage day‑to‑day dispatch operations ensuring timely loading, documentation, and shipment tracking.
• Ensure OTIF (On‑Time, In‑Full) delivery performance is maintained and consistently improved.
• Monitor loading efficiency, turnaround time (TAT), and adherence to safety norms.
• Ensure accurate and compliant documentation (LR, E‑way bill, Invoice, Gate pass, Batch traceability, etc.).

C. Transporter & Vendor Management

• Develop and manage a strong network of transporters and scrutinizing the payment of the vendors.
• Conduct contract validation and crosschecking the freight bills with the signed contract.
• Resolve payment, billing, and claim settlement issues with logistics partners.

D. Cost Management & Optimization

• Drive initiatives to reduce the cost per ton/km through route planning, freight optimization, and load consolidation.
• Monitor logistics budget, freight cost trends, and variance analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost saving through digital tools, automation, and process improvements.

E. Warehouse & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with warehouse teams for stock availability, FIFO/FEFO adherence, damage control, and storage optimization.
• Ensure accurate SAP/ERP entries for material movement.
• Periodically audit inventory for accuracy and safety compliance.

F. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
• Oversee implementation of vehicle & driver safety standards.
• Manage logistics contingencies in case of breakdowns, shortages, or emergencies.

G. Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly bills status report.
• Use data analytics for efficiency improvements in routing, capacity planning, and performance tracking.
• Prepare MIS reports on freight, transportation cost, dispatch performance, inventory alignment.

3. Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of logistics planning, transportation management.
• Proficiency in ERP/SAP, TMS (Transport Mgmt. System), GPS tracking tools, dashboards.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with exposure to Lean or Six Sigma.
• Good negotiation, vendor management, and communication capabilities.
• Understanding of statutory documentation and compliance for logistics.

4. Qualifications & Experience

• Education: MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations; or Graduation with relevant experience.
• Experience: 8–12+ years in logistics planning, dispatch operations, transportation, or supply chain roles.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, chemical, or process industry preferred.
