Directly compressible formulation of maca chewable tablets using PEARLITOL® 200 SD mannitol as filler-binder to improve poor flow and tabletability of the active ingredient
Objective
Develop a prototype formulation for chewable tablets of maca root powder demonstrating the use of PEARLITOL® 200 SD mannitol as filler-binder to improve poor flow and tabletability of the active ingredient for direct compression process.

Method
1. In a mixer, mix PEARLITOL® 200 SD mannitol and silicon dioxide with the maca powder for 5 minutes.
2. Add the magnesium stearate and mix for 5 minutes more.
3. Compress the powder with a 12 mm diameter round concave punch.
