The Roquette Foundation for Health supports the “Microbiota, inspired by Gut: the inside story of our body’s most under-rated organ” exhibition.
This partnership with the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie museum in Paris is a perfect fit with the Foundation’s mission of supporting innovative and educative programs in the areas of food and nutrition.
La Madeleine, December 4, 2018 – The Roquette Foundation for Health has announced that it is a partner of the “Microbiota, inspired by Gut: the inside story of our body’s most under-rated organ” exhibition, which opens to the public at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris today. The Foundation, which operates under the aegis of the Fondation de France, was created last year by Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients for the Food, Nutrition and Health markets.
For the first time, the Roquette Foundation for Health has teamed up with a cultural organization, Universcience, to support an exhibition.
Anne Lambin, Head of the Roquette Foundation for Health, commented: “We are delighted to be supporting the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie with this exhibition, which is opening in Paris first, before being transferred to other venues outside of France. Visitors will have fun while learning all about the inner workings and secrets of our microbiota. The intestinal microbiota we have in our gut from birth plays a critical role in keeping us healthy. A thriving microbiota is a sign of a flourishing organism from a physiological, psychological and behavioral point of view. The digestive system and dietary habits are covered to give visitors a better understanding of their body. This partnership fits perfectly with the Foundation’s and the Roquette Group’s objectives of improving the well-being and health of millions of people around the world.”

Since it was created in November 2017, the Foundation has already extended its support to four other innovative and educational food and nutrition projects at a local, national and international level.
The supported organizations so far are:
Le Jardin Voyageur, a non-profit organization based in Lille that introduces children to gardening and makes them aware of the importance of eating properly and respecting nature.
The Fédérons Les Villes pour la Santé (FLVS) non-profit organization and Vivons en Forme (Live Healthily), its nationwide health and prevention program, which aims at keeping everyone fit and healthy, preventing children from becoming overweight or obese and helping reduce health-related social inequalities in terms of diet and physical activity.
The DigestScience foundation, with its mission of improving the care and treatment of digestive conditions and patients’ quality of life, and striving to identify the environmental risk factors that can cause Crohn’s disease.
Life Project 4 Youth, a non-profit organization that aims at promoting the social and professional inclusion of young adults living on the fringes of society. Its projects include the Life Project Center Malwani in Mumbai (India) known as ‘YUMMY’.
The “Microbiota, inspired by Gut: the inside story of our body’s most under-rated organ” exhibition at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris will open on December 4, 2018 and close on August 4, 2019.
This exhibition was designed in partnership with the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), Heureka (Helsinki) and the Pavilion of Knowledge - Ciência Viva (Lisbon), with the participation of Afa Crohn RCH and the support from the Biocodex Microbiota Institute, Danone Research and the Roquette Foundation for Health.

The 2018 prize is the first awarded to the company as Roquette, which acquired Itacel, Blanver’s excipients division in 2017. Blanver won the award the last five years.
