About the 21st International Cyclodextrin Symposium 

Roquette will be a platinium partner at ICS21 in Dunkerque, a conference dedicated to cyclodextrins, at the Centre Universitaire des Darses, between June 10-14, 2024. This is an in person event in the heart of Europe, with a jam packed program of speakers, poster presentation and networking.

About the Speakers

Olaf HaueslerDr. Olaf Häusler - Global Pharma Technical Application Specialist, Roquette Pharma Solutions

Soon after studying Pharmacy, Olaf entered Roquette, always in technical and customer centric positions. Therefore, he discovered and liked the big world of carbohydrates with endless possibilities. His social interests, caused by the PhD topics, are cyclodextrins and modified starches. Today he participates in different internal projects and stay available for all technical requests from outside. Centres of interest are oral and parenteral formulations of small macules and some biopharma formulation topics.

Julien ParcqJulien Parcq - Manager of Functionalization of Starches, Sugars and Polyols Department, Roquette

Julien Parcq completed his Master degree specialized in Organic Chemistry from the National Engineering School of Chemistry in Rennes (ENSCR, France) in 2003. He spent 7 years in R&D as medicinal chemist at Euroscreen (Belgian company specialized on G Protein coupled Receptor), and then joined Roquette in 2011. After 8 years as research manager on starch chemistry he moved to the management of the functionalization department in 2019.

Carmen PopescuDr. Carmen Popescu - Global Pharma/Bio Technical Developer, Roquette

Carmen got her B.S. degree in Physics and Ph.D. in Biophysics at University of Bucharest, Romania.  In her career, she focused on the development of classic dosage forms (liquid, semi-solid and solid dosage forms formulation) as well as drug delivery systems (microparticles, nanoparticles, liposomes, noisome) for small and large molecules. Dr. Popescu has published over 120 research papers, book chapters and presentations.

Damien TruffinDr. Damien Truffin - Toxicologist Expert, Roquette

He has several years of experience in industrial pharma companies especially in vet pharma. He joined Roquette in 2018 with a current position as Pharmacologist and Toxicologist in Nutrition and Health R and D in the Roquette’s Global R and D.
