- Hydroxypropyl Beta-Cyclodextrin as a Safer Alternative for Viral Inactivation in Bioprocessing

In this presentation we will introduce hydroxypropyl Beta-Cyclodextrin as a promising new solution for viral inactivation in bioprocessing. These multi-compendia excipient has been shown to effectively inactivate enveloped viruses in viral clearance study. Hydroxypropyl Beta-Cyclodextrin is also highly versatile and can be easily integrated into existing downstream processes and in final formulations.

About the speaker
Dr. Shiqi Hong is a Biopharma Team Leader at Roquette, based out of Roquette’s Global Biopharma Center of Excellence in Singapore.
In her role, Shiqi leads a team of scientists working on biologics formulation and drug delivery. The team is instrumental in solving formulation challenges leveraging on Roquette’s excipients. She also drives innovation by developing new solutions in biopharma processes and formulation. Prior to her role in Roquette, she has almost a decade of cross-functional experience in drug product development in a biopharmaceutical company. Shiqi earned her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bachelor of Applied Chemistry from the National University of Singapore.
