Organized by the European Associations of Industrial Galenic Pharmacists, the PBP is a scientific conference dedicated to Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical (or galenic) Technology.
This conference has become a well-established major meeting, attracting scientists from all over the world.
Scientific studies
This event will be the opportunity for Dr Carmen POPESCU, Roquette Global Technical Application Specialist for Pharma Applications, to present her latest research achievements with the following scientific studies:
Beta cyclodextrin derivatives as protein aggregation modulators
Evaluation of the effect of two β cyclodextrins derivatives: KLEPTOSE® HPB (hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin with M.S.=0.65) and KLEPTOSE® HP (hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin with M.S=0.9) on two biologic drugs.
Study realized in collaboration with Rajiv NAYAR (HTD Biosystems)
Solid dispersion of O/W vitamin D3 emulsion processed by electrostatic spray drying
Use of electrostatic spray drying as a new tool to create a stable and versatile solid dispersion of an oil soluble model drug Vitamin D3 and to deliver it in an oral disintegrating tablet (ODT).
Study realized with Dongyue YU, Gary HOLLENBECK, Ahmed IBRAHIM, Stephen W. HOAG (University of Maryland), Joel MIGCHELBRINK, Joseph P. SZCZAP (Spraying Systems Company)
Scientific posters
Two other scientific posters will also be presented by Franck BOURDUCHE, Roquette Application Scientist, about:
Preliminary characterization of commercial maltitol powders on a rotary tablet press simulator
Evaluation of maltitol and, more specifically, their tableting properties with an industrial rotary press simulator, to characterize the impact of particle size on three commercial maltitol samples.
Study realized with Nicolas Tarlier, Philippe Lefèvre (Roquette, France), Bernard Bataille, Ian Soulairol, Noelia Sanchez-Ballester, Tahmer Sharkawi (MACS, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Montpellier, France)
The impact of lubrication and speed rate on commercial maltitol using a rotary tablet press simulator
Evaluation of SweetPearl® P300DC (maltitol) with an industrial rotary tablet press simulator to characterize the impact of lubrication and speed rate.
Study realized with Nicolas Tarlier, Philippe Lefèvre (Roquette, France), Bernard Bataille, Ian Soulairol, Noelia Sanchez-Ballester, Tahmer Sharkawi (MACS, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Montpellier, France)
