In June 2019, nearly 30 Roquette employees in Singapore came together for a volunteering activity that increased their understanding that food wastage and food insecurity exist in different forms.
Joining “Project Eat Better”, a program launched by Food Bank Singapore, the Roquette employees went around collecting surplus fruits and vegetables from stall owners at a wholesale center.
These are food items, which could be either slightly damaged or unsold but are still good for consumption.
Employee volunteers exercised their convincing power to ask stall owners to donate their fruits and vegetables to bring to the elderly beneficiaries. An enriching experience for the Roquette volunteers!
