POLYSORB® ID 37 is not harmful to human health or the environment, and its use is safe.
POLYSORB® ID 37 is a composition of isosorbide diesters resulting from the products of the Research-Innovation-Development Management. This new product, entirely made from renewable raw materials, is considered as a green alternative to traditional plasticizers, such as phthalates, and is intended in particular for the production of soft PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
Moreover, in 2009, ROQUETTE was awarded the "Pierre Potier Prize" for Innovation in Chemistry to promote Sustainable Development for this entirely bio-based plasticizer.
Very recently, a further step has been taken thanks to the collaborative work of the BIOHUB® Programme Management, the Research Management and the Regulation Department of the Intellectual Property Management teams.
POLYSORB® ID 37 has indeed been successfully registered following the requirements of the REACH regulation, thus entitling Roquette to produce more than 1.000 tons.
Scientific studies were conducted proving POLYSORB® ID 37 is not harmful to human health or the environment, and that its use is safe. Roquette can now promote POLYSORB® ID 37 on a large scale and on all markets.
