LYCATAB® C is a new multifunctional pregelatinized maize starch designed for pharmaceutical use. The product has been developed as a functional filler for two-piece hard gelatin capsules, for wet granulation granules and direct compression tablets.
This brochure illustrates the excellent properties of Roquette’s LYCATAB® C, and demonstrates why it is the filler of choice for hard gelatin capsules, and also a highly effective binder-disintegrant for granules and tablets.
Thanks to its high compatibility with gelatin, good machinability and superior disintegration properties, LYCATAB® C is a multifunctional excipient with high versatility in the formulation of pharmaceutical products.
A technical brochure incorporating a general introduction to this type of excipient, with detailed information on the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of LYCASIN® 80/55. Its biological properties and examples of pharmaceutical applications are also included.
LYCASIN® 80/55 is a maltitol syrup manufactured according to rigorous specifications.
The MALTISORB® brochure offers detailed information about this excipient and its physiological, physical and chemical properties. Details of typical pharmaceutical applications, and general information about packaging are also included.
MALTISORB® crystalline maltitol is a bulk sweetener for the manufacture of sugar-free medicines; it can be used alone or in combination with other excipients. Because its sweetness and physico-chemical characteristics are very close to those of sucrose, MALTISORB® maltitol is the most effective substitute for sugar. MALTISORB® crystalline maltitol is an excipient of choice in a range of applications, for which it offers a number of benefits:
- Powder forms: free-flowing, excellent solubility and a pleasant sweet taste. Its hygroscopicity is low and as a diluent it is compatible with water-sensitive active ingredients.
- Tablet forms: high sweetening power. Due to its low hygroscopicity and good solubility, it is used as a filler in the formulation of effervescent tablets.
- Sugar-free tablet coating: operational conditions similar to those required for sucrose.
Moreover, maltitol is non-cariogenic, has a low energy value and a low glycaemic index.
NEOSORB® sorbitol has the following features: high chemical stability, excellent tabletting properties and pleasant taste and mouthfeel, making it an excipient of choice in a wide range of possible applications:
- In different types of tablets: suckable, chewable, effervescent and standard.
- In sachet and reconstituable syrups, NEOSORB® sorbitol powders are used as a diluent-sweetener
- NEOSORB® Pyrogen-Free is highly recommended for the manufacture of injectable preparations because of its cryoprotective effect, osmotic properties, physical stability and excellent chemical inertness.
Sorbitol is also non-cariogenic, non-acidogenic and allows sugar-free formulation.
This technical document describes the physiological, physical and chemical properties of NEOSORB® sorbitol powder in detail. It also provides examples of typical formulations, and general information about packaging. The pyrogen-free grade of sorbitol is also covered.
NUTRIOSE®, a new-generation of wheat and corn-derived soluble dextrin fibres, ensures delivery of prebiotic health benefits while overcoming processability, stability and taste issues.
NUTRIOSE® FB06 and FM06 are supplied in the form of water-soluble, free-flowing amorphous powders.
This brochure presents the distinctive properties that make NUTRIOSE® well adapted to nutraceutical and clinical nutrition formulations.
